The haps

So, my surgery is scheduled for Monday! Here's how it'll happen. The hot neurosurgeon resident (Joe) will make a 4-inch incision in my neck, and remove a bone plate. He'll open the spinal cord, and there waiting patiently will be the tumor. This will be removed and tested, and then my neck will be put back together. The operation should take about 3 hours and my post-op recovery should be 2 days in the hospital and then I can go home!

We're hoping that the tumor is benign, but if not then I made have to get some radiation or whatever. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. In the meantime, I am looking forward to Monday and getting my life back! Beers on me as soon as I can work again.

Again, thanks for the support and my hospital room door is open to any visitors over the weekend. Apparently, I'm a "fall risk", so if you come visit, you're not allowed to push me over. (Honestly, if I hit my head, I could be paralyzed. How f'ed up is that?)
