Wow! I didn't realize how long it had been since I checked in. I had a rough few days-- yesterday, I was woken up by the worst headache I've ever had. I don't think I've ever been woken up by headache before, but I don't recommend it. I called one of my doctors and he gave a few possible explanations, and said that if his advice didn't curb it, then I needed to head back to the hospital. I am so thankful that it didn't end up that way-- I am not interested in being in another hospital bed, thankyouverymuch! Also, I'm thankful that yesterday was my mom's day off-- had she not been home, I don't know what I would've done. On the other hand, I had big plans for yesterday...I was hoping to do some puppy-hunting, and maybe find a way to coerce Jan into letting me drink a pint of Guinness to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Instead, I spent the day in bed, fairly certain that my head was going to explode...not quite as much fun, but whatever. Today's another day.
I haven't heard anything about Sasha, but from her Facebook profile, I imagine her surgery went smoothly. Thank you to anyone who said some prayers on her behalf. I noticed something interesting earlier today. When my siblings and I were growing up, my parents recorded our increasing heights on the archway between the foyer and the kitchen...and somehow it turned into this massive yearbook page. The archway (even the overhead portion) is covered in signatures from everyone that's been to the house, and I noticed Sasha's signature! It's pretty remarkable to look at the different names and think of how much has changed for each person who's signed the wall; a lot of the signatures were from high school-aged kids-- and a lot of those "kids" are now full-fledged grown-ups, with spouses, kids, mortgages, careers, etc. There are also several signatures from people who've surmounted insane personal obstacles to become the people they are today.
Well, considering I didn't get to enjoy the beautiful weather yesterday, I'd best do so today. Michigan weather is such a tease...it might be 50 and sunny today, but I know we'll be back to freezing our asses off next week! So, off I go to soak it in while I can.
