mmm, endorphins and gratitude

So, this is the incision 3 weeks and 1 day post-surgery. I know, I know-- I've already planned on marketing fake scar make-up to Vera Wang for next season's bridal couture line. It's bound to be the next big thing. I'm really happy with how it's healing though-- one less thing to worry about.

I completed 1.3 miles on the elliptical, and then just under 2 miles on pavement with my mom. Gotta love those endorphins-- and I'm imagining that every drop of sweat that leaves my body is carrying with it a drop of tension.

Interesting fact from Katie about health and weight-loss...for every pound you lose from your frame, you reduce four pounds of pressure from your joints. Put that in your teabag and brew it.

On our walk, Jan and I played a little game, directly inspired from Carrie's blog-- we took turns listing things for which we are thankful. Some were silly (Jan was thankful only one of her volleyball players had a complaining parent), some were a little weightier (I was thankful I have parents who take their health seriously). I highly recommend the Thank You game...I also recommend watching episodes of 30 Rock while chugging on the elliptical.

High-fives all around-- cue the theme from Rocky!

  1. I love the "list game." Making a list of random things in your life that you: love, hate, enjoy eating, are thankful for, like doing on Sundays, games played with a dog....Good stuff.

  2. I triple hail the list games.
It's like High Fidelity, but not in a movie or book form... it's my form.

Now hurry up and get all the way better.
