I feel like this is the first time in over a year that I've been legitimately busy. Unreal. I was over at Katie's parents' house for dinner and general merriment, and we were watching Love Actually, and I spent a good few minutes plugging little appointments into the calendar on my phone. Unbelievable. I actually have a breakfast date with Ben on Tuesday morning. Just how I will drag my ace out of bed to meet for said breakfast is another story altogether. Anyway, I am enjoying the busy. It's a nice change from a year of inertia.
I am also really enjoying having my fam home. Maybe it's because we haven't been under the same roof for too long yet, or maybe it's because it's been a tough year, but there seems to be a sense of relief in the house, like we're all happy to be together. Hmm. Yeah, give it another two days, and there will be an entry in here detailing how much I hate my family. Hahahahhaha!!
I was without web access for a few days, and I totally missed the news cycle on Brittany Murphy's sudden death. WTF?! Cardiac arrest at 32? Whoa. That sounds very suspicious. But, whatever the cause, that is awful news...she had talent, for sure. She played in a mockumentary comedy called Drop Dead Gorgeous and she was GREAT in it. (I feel like I've mentioned DDG in here before, but I can't remember. I may have to start making tags and archives or whatever. Maybe I'll do that when I'm not BUSY!!! AHAHHAHAHAHAHHA!!! It's still funny.) It is hilarious and original film with some great performances-- Kirstie Alley, Ellen Barkin, Allison Janney, Amy Adams, Kirsten Dunst...even Denise Richards does an OK job! The director must've been a total genius because K-Dunst and Denise Richards are usually wastes of film. Allison Janney is unbelievably good. We all know that she's a great actress. Watch just ONE episode of The West Wing and she'll make a believer of you. But, I had no idea she had such great comedy chops. One of my dream gigs would be mix Inside the Actors' Studio and Late Night, and conduct incredible interviews-- if I ever had the chance, I'd want Allison Janney to be one of my first interviewees. Oh, shit...it would've been fun to interview Brittany Murphy. She'd worked with a really wide swath of entertainers in her short career-- I mean, Eminem and Holly Hunter, all within a 5-year time span? Wow. RIP, Brittany.
Ok...off to bed. Four more days in the tinseled trenches.
