Today was a new day.
I had a productive day at LGW.
I had delicious and g-g-g-greasy pizza for dinner with Leslie and Erin (one current and one former coworker).
I played some cards with Jan.
I tried out a new tea that I picked out the other day at that coffee/tea joint I mentioned a few entries ago. (It's yerba mate. I don't think it's technically "tea", but it's mild, herbaceous, kind of minty, and it didn't make me feel like a total nutbar like coffee sometimes does. Also, it didn't cause any intestinal tomfoolery like coffee always does.)
I took a hot shower this evening without feeling the room spin.
As I told Leslie over cheap beer and ridiculous pizza, I noticed a great thing over the past 24 hours. So, this whole school thing is a bit of a setback. I have to wait THAT much longer to do what I want, and I have to wait THAT much longer to be out of the parental nest. But, in the past, certainly before the tumor/surgery bullshit [which shall henceforth be known as "TSBS"], setbacks would be more upsetting. I really feel OK about it. Yeah, it sucks, but it's also a few more months to stash some money away, get healthier/stronger, etc. (I'm sure Big Doug will be just thrilled to hear all of this.)
My friends need to stop going tanning. I am on a one-woman mission to bring pale back. I am NOT cool with my friends voluntarily absorbing carcinogens to make themselves more attractive to men. NOT COOL.
Ok-- time for bed. I need to be well-rested for my mission.
I'm with you on the pale skin mission.
ReplyDeleteIt's 37C here in Melbs so I'm feeling it even more but that's why it comes in a bottle!
Miss you x
