Twitterati

My friend John has become my CEO: Chief Enabling Officer. He lured me into the world of Twitter with the promise of fun and frenzy. And I've only been at it for a day, but so far, I'm pleased. It is pretty fun. At least, watching the Olympics is pretty fun with a Twitter feed in front of your face. John is delightfully snarky, so the two of us were sort of trading barbs about the hilarity that is pairs figure skating. I think that I'll reserve judgment on Twitter until I can watch the Academy Awards with a Twitter feed-- it could be epic.

I am working on a writing project right now-- BFF Katie's younger sister, Melissa, is an MFA candidate in ceramics, and her new show opens tomorrow...well, actually, it opens in about 9.5 hours. I am helping her write a cohesive artist's statement. With most of the fine artists I know, a major Achilles' heel is written ability-- they may've conceived an incredible piece or an evocative concept, but they can't explain it to non-artists. I am happy to help Melissa translate her incredible ideas into a language we can all understand.

So, when Melissa's show opens at 10am, it will have been pretty much exactly one year since I woke up from my surgery. Jury's still out.
