Possibly good news...no chicken-counting yet!!

I spoke to the nurse at the oncologist's office today and she said that my tumor is what is called a "hemangioblastoma". Now, before you go hit Wikipedia (yeah, like that wasn't your next move), just keep in mind that while this kind of tumor is generally benign (OMG, can you even think of a sexier word right now?!), definitive news, or cause for either celebration or concern, will not be provided until I talk to the oncologist on Tuesday. There are always exceptions, there are always rare cases. At this point though, there is significant cause for optimism. My dad and I will be heading to Cincinnati probably Monday night-- I see an NP for my neurosurgeon at 11am Tuesday, and then see the oncologist right after. I am particularly excited about seeing the NP because hopefully I'll be able to get some questions answered. The main theme of these questions will be "When the hell will I be normal again?". Specifically-- when I can I lift something that weighs more than a puppy? When will Diet Coke taste like heaven again? When will I go from being in pain to being just sore? Do I have to do physical therapy? When can I drive again? Oh, man, I am going to drive that NP absolutely up the wall. Gonna be awesome.
