I am going to be in Atlanta in a month! I am so veryvery excited to see my Atlantans, Andy and Laura. Also, it just so happens that the bride, whose shower I missed two weekends ago, lives in Atlanta, so I will also get to see her and meet her hubs-to-be.
Back in the hey-day of my adventures with BFF Thea, we would always joke about hopping on I-75 and driving south until we hit a beach. The hey-days are long-gone, and I still haven't done that. In a month, I am headed to Cincinnati for another hot date with Dr. A and his magical MRI machine, and for some fun/fellowship with the Cincinnati chapter of Team Dana, and then I am getting back on 75 to head to Atlanta. I wonder what the repercussions would be if, when I'm about to head back northward, if I just took a wrong turn and ended up in Florida...hmm. The highway ends in Hialeah, a suburb of Miami. (Not exactly a beach, but whatever.) Well, I have a friend in Miami who may achieve speed-dial status come February. Also, I just read that Key West has never had a recorded fall of sleet, freezing rain, or snow. That sounds like absolute heaven right now. As much as I hate to be hot, I always forget the feeling that lasts from mid-January until at least the beginning of March in which it seems that your body will never be entirely warm ever again and that your skin will never feel the tingle of sun exposure.
If there is a lapse in entries in the coming weeks and people start to get worried, tell the search parties to begin at this point: http://www.floridastateparks.org/forttaylor/default.cfm
Anyone else think that a beachside cocktail sounds pretty tempting?
