Kith and Kin

My boss-lady is expanding her suite of creative services to the metro Detroit bridal market. She's been dipping her toe into it for several years, and now we're pursuing it in a real way. One of the struggles I've seen with the handful of brides I've met (these are the girls that have just gotten engaged, or who are just starting to plan their wedding) is that they don't have a clear vision of what they want. So, I took it upon myself to draft a bridal questionnaire...and it turned into a project that was more than I want to admit. I wrote 12(?) broad questions, and then made this massive list of adjectives for the brides-elect to peruse...the goal being for them to generate descriptors for their ideal wedding day. Trying to think of 200 or so wedding-appropriate adjectives was really entertaining, and it gave me cause to flip through a lot of bridal magazines. (No, I'm not planning my wedding, no, I don't have my dress picked out...but, yes, bridal magazines are cotton-candy-fun.) I am looking forward to polishing this questionnaire, and testing it out on some unsuspecting brides-to-be.

Also, I discovered a lovely phrase: "kith and kin". A quick Google-search tells me that it has a Middle English origin-- probably could've guessed that-- but it means "friends and family". It just sounds a lot better. AND, apparently, there's a new restaurant in Chicago called Kith and Kin. (The reviews are mixed, but they have buttermilk fried chicken thighs on their menu soooo I may have to give that place a try.) Whatever...I like the opportunity to expand my vocabulary...add a new entry to the lexicon. A new way to impress smart people and scare off dumb people. Hhahahahahahahah!!!!!!

There must be a zillion wedding videos out there that depict different wedding styles. What if you create an interactive web site where the bride can see then select what is more to her way of thinking....I'm just saying..
