Note from the bloggerette herself: I began this blog in February of 2009 under very uncool conditions. Since then, it's been an inconsistent commentary on my journey back to coolness. To borrow a phrase from a certain television show, it's about to get raw like sushi, so haters to the left.

The Wisdom of Joey-Paul
I just got off the phone with my brother, and I have to pay him some credit. He's in San Francisco, so his involvement in Team Dana has been a little more distant, but he's been checking in regularly, making me laugh, and he's just great. So, we just discussed this whole painkiller-valium thing, and he was like, "Yeah, I understand your concern...it's a slippery slope. It feels good to take it right now for your pain, and then who's to say it won't feel good once you don't need it anymore?" That's my exact concern. So, I discussed this with Katie, and we more or less agreed that the red-flag moment for me would be calling to get her doctor boyfriend's phone number to score a prescription. Joey told me that I'm good to go as long as I'm not snorting it. The tao of Joe Monforton. Love that guy. (He's also the one that sent me the Tupac-referencing fruit basket. Seriously-- my sister-in-law-to-be snagged a good one!)
